July 2025 Car Sales – The Big Names, the Big Numbers

July 2025 has wrapped up, and the car sales scoreboard is out. Some brands kept the momentum going, others slowed down a touch, but the top 5 are still holding on to their spots.

1. Maruti Suzuki – 1,29,164 units (39.31% share)

Still the boss of the Indian car market, Maruti sold nearly 4 out of every 10 cars this month. The numbers are slightly lower than July last year, but with so many models on offer — from entry-level hatchbacks to premium MPVs — it’s no surprise they’re miles ahead.

2. Hyundai – 43,009 units (13.09% share)

Hyundai stays firmly in second place, led by the Creta and Venue. The sales dip is slight, and the brand still enjoys a strong position with its popular SUV range.

3. Mahindra – 42,207 units (12.84% share)

Mahindra’s SUV lineup — Scorpio-N, XUV700, and Thar — continues to pull in customers. They’re breathing down Hyundai’s neck, and the gap between second and third place has never been this close.

4. Tata Motors – 40,486 units (12.32% share)

Tata keeps its double-digit market share thanks to the Nexon, Punch, and a growing EV range. The brand’s mix of design, safety, and electric options is working.

5. Toyota – 25,370 units (7.72% share)

Toyota’s Innova Hycross and hybrid models are winning buyers over. Compared to last year, the brand has grown, proving that hybrids are finding more takers in India.

The Big Picture:

Maruti, Hyundai, Mahindra, and Tata together control over three-fourths of the market. Toyota’s holding strong in fifth, but the real battle to watch is between Hyundai and Mahindra for that second-place crown.
